only thing is, i can’t afford to pay for it

mambomambomambo… I’d go for mambo… much better… and easy to install (base and modules)

Before you choose a CMS, you should figure out what you want to do with it.
I’ve tried 4 or 5 different open source PHP/MySQL CMSes and they are all good but also quite different. Typo3 for instance is _very_ comprehensive but also requires a lot of knowledge to set up. PHPNuke is used a lot and has lots of modules available but is poorly coded and structured, IMO. Mambo is easy to set up and nicely coded (some of the modules are not though) but has some limitations compared to other CMSes.
So there is no ‘best’ CMS. It depends on what you want to use it for.

you’re right, hans, after all i’m glad i picked mambo, it suits my needs perfectly
