# Mask help, please

Hello, I just attempted the shine tutorial but in flash mx and seem to have some problems with the mask!

My layer order is this…

Mask layer ( which is filled text )

Gradient layer ( the shine that runs along the text )

Graphic text ( actual shown text )

i’ve right clicked on mask layer and applied a mask to the gradient and it works when scrolling along the time line, however when i test the movie or export it the gradient layer is totally visible and no sign of the mask working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

p.s i understant the tutorial was for flash 8 but would expect masks to work in mx.
