Why are you trying to mask dynamic text? You might have an easier way around what you are trying to do.

Howdy…

Did you embed the font properly??? That’d be the first place I’d look…

i have a lot of text which needs to be scrolled (hence the mask)

an alternative i can think of is to have some numbers or symbols depicting ‘page numbers’ (like on macromedia’s site - main page has 3 numbers: 1 2 & 3 and clicking them brings up a different bit of text)

i just wondered why my dynamic text would show in the mask (or anywhere, for that matter). i.e. if i change it to static it works fine (i can scroll it)

cheers for feedback
🙂

If you are trying to scroll a bunch of text, you should use this tut:

I use it at one of my sites:

It works well and you do not have to mess with masks.

ah yes - i use those often

however, i’d made some nice scroll buttons (as opposed to the ugly scroll component) and that’s why i was making my own ‘scroller’

but…

i’ve just discovered i can edit the component and change teh colours around! so i’ll use the scroll component after all
🙂

many cheers

PS i am an unpublished wannabe author so your site made for interesting reading! i’ll pop back in and have a good look later

cool…your stuff would need an ISSN instead of an ISBN - I’m ready to help in the US market - when you are ready - send an email on my site - I’ll respond!!

This is so not the forum to talk about international publication of printed material…

You can email all your questions and inquiries to:

I know nothing of publishing in UK. I can only make it happen here. It’s all about copyright laws and who owns rights…Write me to my email…I can’t use Kirupa as an outlet of sales. I will respond to all emails.
