I have a one year student license of 3ds max that’s coming close to expiring, and I have been debating whether or not to renew the license for another year, or get a full student version of maya unlimited. The obvious advantage of Maya is that it is much cheaper and you can get a full student version for the cost of 1.5yrs of Max. I really like the interface of 3dsmax and am fluent with it, but when I tried maya it seemed more confusing. Do you think that I could pick up maya fairly fast? What are your suggestions/recommendations?

ps: My price range varies from around $0-250 USD (non-commercial student pricing applicable)
