hey guys…

i’m currently working on a project where i would like to create a message notification system where whenever an email has been sent to an online member, a bubble pops up saying you “have a new message”…

i’ve looked around on google, found a php instant messaging system that i figured i could find a similar script but with 25 pages of php to sort through, i decided there might be a better method…

my current host does not support php sockets, so i’d prefer avoiding them.

i don’t mind however using javascript or anything else, so if anybody knows a way to instantly notify a member when they receive an email i’d appreciate any tips.

thanks,
