are meta tags browser dependent ?  
this is my meta

“\<META HTTP-EQUIV=“Content-Type” CONTENT=“text/html; charset=x-user-defined”\>”

here i defined a charset of my local language. some versions of i.e. rendering the font correctly but I.E v6 not showing the font. any suggitions… help me .
