# Monitering a Child's timeline from stage

I have a movieclip with a 10 frame animation.

Is it possible to write a script, on the stage, that initiates a function, on the stage, when this movie clip reaches frame 8? Or do I need to write the code within the movieclip?

If possible how would I do this?
