# Monitor external SWF playback progress

I’m an experienced programmer, but I am pretty new to Flash CS3/AS3.

I am loading swf’s into a controlling swf.

I wonder what is the best way for the parent swf to find when the last frame or a particular frame in a child swf has played back?
