# Movie clips in buttons? D:

**[EDIT] NEVERmind! I figured it out 😃**

Hello thar.

Well, I was using the kirupa tutorial for transitions between externals swf: [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/transitions2.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/transitions2.htm)

but I realized too late the my “buttons” don’t work as well, because, well, let me explain:

I made navigation labels, converted them to **movie clips** and gave them hover over effects. (based on this tut: [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/button\_effect.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/button_effect.htm) )  
Then I wanted to do the above tutorial but realized the movie clips don’t work with the codes provided. So i converted said movie clips into buttons. Yeah…so the buttons don’t work as well because the movieclip seems to obstruct the hit area. So only when I hit outside of the movieclip (on the hit frame) will my transition work. Is that clear?

How can I keep my really snazzy effects from the movie clip (on hover) and yet have a working button?
