# Movie with preloader inside the movie?

I’m building a website based in flash movie and it’s only small website. I have created a separate movie file of photos (a bit like slideshow) with preloader in it (it is working when tested) and imported it into website but the problem is when i click button in website to run photo movie, only loading logo came flashing constantly and nothing comes on afterward so i know i’m doing something wrong.
What has caused this problem and how can i sort it out?

Can you post your fla? I had a similar problem. It probably has to do with the level you script things on. For example you may be using \_root. instead of this. if you just took the script of a tutorial

Ok I fixed up your action scripting a bit and I make the links work. Can you explain the other problem one more time? I’m not sure I understand. Also if you could give me the fla for the photo gallery rather than the swf that would help. I will email you what I have if you give me your email. Theres a lot of little changes you could make that would decrease your file size a lot if you are interested. You don’t need each button to be a separate instance in the library. You can use 1 button for all of them.

I was saying earlier that I want to play a photo movie on main content in website when clicking ‘gallery’ link. Cos preloader in photo movie is more tricky to use inside website.
I have made a photo movie just for testing but I know how to compress jpg file but could the quality of jpg photo be compressed in flash when exported? (for when you want the movie to be reduced in size rather than compressing each photo?)
I’m sure I’ll learn something when you have sorted it out, thanks again!

yes the jpgs may be compressed. give me a little while to work on this some more

Yeah you did your preloaders wrong. You cant use \_root. because its not the root movie any more. you have to use this.

Im going to set it up so it loads the external photo file. Is that ok or do you want it all in one file?

Thanks!! Very pleased about it, it is a bit different but very neat!
Links worked fine but I have forgotten about e-mail link? Can it works on dynamic text? If not, i’ll make a e-mail logo.
