# Movieclip names in an Array and trace id?

why can’t I trace ID the same as var i???

part of my code if you paste it in flash you can see what I mean

trace var i goes well  
tracing subNav.id doesn’t work???

```auto

navArray = ["who", "are", "what", "how", "going"];
numNavElements = navArray.length;
for (var i=0; i<numNavElements; i++) {
	var subNav = navArray*;
	subNav.id = i;
	subNav.navArray = navArray;
	trace(i);
	trace("ID "+subNav.id);
	
}

```

Any suggestions???
