# mp3 permanent tag

is it possible to put a tag / label an mp3 and lock it so that no one can re-name it or change the info in it?

No. Nothing on a computer can be “locked”. Except maybe encrypted and signed things but even that’s temporary.

What are you trying to do?

im trying to release an album online… and making sure that if i release it as mp3s, the info in it would remain…

haha just a thought tho

I think most people WANT to discover new artists. I don’t see it as a problem. You have the originals and you can call out on somebody when they do steal your stuff.
