# \[MX04\] Receiving data from aspx

Hi there,

I’m working on a project where I have to put [ASP.NET](http://ASP.NET) (C#) and Flash together.  
The idea is to have a database, server side scripting (aspx-pages) and client side flash.

I picked up somewhere that it should be possible to write aspx-pages that return xml instead of html. So that you can link Flash and the aspx-pages to receive the data from the database as xml.

For now, the xml-part isn’t that important, since I don’t even know how to send variables from [asp.net](http://asp.net), and receive them in Flash.

So my question is: How can I send variabels from aspx-pages to flash???

Are there any websites or tutorials on the subject?
