# My button within movieclips not working

Hi,

I’ve hit a problem. Can you help?

I have an animated button that is in a movieclip, this movieclip is on the main timeline.  
The buttons actions refer to certain frames on the main timeline.  
The problem is I can get the button to gotandplay to the certain frames on this timeline. I’ve tried using “frame labels”, “expressions”, “\_root.” But nothing seems to work.

I’ve uploaded a simple .fla of what I’m working on.

Can anyone help?

Where you have your code on the button, use this instead:

on (release) {  
\_root.gotoAndPlay(15);  
}
