Okay, please dont kill me but, what exactly is “Pixel Art” ??? Ive been wondering ever since everyone has been starting to do it, and I see no difference in the art itself :o

Take a 1px pencil tool in an art program (pencil tool so it is not anti-aliased)… zoom WAAAAYYYYY in and start clicking on your picture pixel by pixel to draw it.
That is pixel art. It is like 8-bit graphics (there is more detailed pixel art that is like way extreme and not so 8 bit graphics like, but that would take forever)

What about making KirupaVille in pure pixel-art? Every (active) member creates a place of their own, using a template? Mebbe the one I released for pixel enthusiasts? Then I smack it all together when it’s done :beam:

wow thats amazing for ANYONE let alone a first try…only four hours you say? thats good and with practice that will come down very much
also, this tutorial idea is ludicrous …lol are you guys gonna do a pixel by pixel illustration to show how to make the images? lmfao that will take forever…forget it…pixel art tutorials are gonna be tuff…i’m being silly again aren’t I …it might be possible, if anyone can do it its you guys :beam:
edit: on further viewing, that “school” is reminding me of a place i am not so fond of …it looks like a “correctional facility” to me…anyone else see that? bad memories being evoked by this image ? anyone? ok its just me i guess

excellent, when do you expect it to be finished? is it simple? i don’t want to draw no schools or anything like that…my first attempts look exactly like first attempts…how eilsoe and ahmed made their first attempts so good amazes me still

yep… i started off by just making a brick, then made four different coloured bricks… i fixed a ‘peice of wall’ together, and then duplicated it. after i had the building i drew the windows, the main entrance and the little door… that was basically it… wasnt really hard=)
@mak: sorry if this evoked any sad memories or such, i’ll try to draw something more … cheerful next time:P
