I followed a tutorial, but when the preloader bar loads, only the number grows. The bar doesn’t load at all.

Have you set:

- registration point correctly?
- given the loadbar an instance name?

When converting the bar you created to a movieclip, the Convert to Symbol movieclip was presented to you. This is the dialog were you could select which type of Symbol you wanted your object ot be (button, graphic or movieclip). You could also give a name to your symbol ( NOT an instance name ). On the right in that dialog, there were nine dots. Those represent the registration point.

The registration point is represented by the little cross with the circle around it ( ![](http://users.pandora.be/voetsjoeba/kirupa/trans004.gif))

To change the registration point, do this: right click your bar, select “Edit in Place”. You will now see your bar as object. Now, open your align panel (Window | Align I think), and click the “To Stage” button on the right part of the window. Now click the top-left button (see image for instructions)

Now the bar will be aligned to the right of the registration point, and thus will the registration point be on the left. Now all you have to do is return to the stage by pressing the link on the bar right above the stage 😉
