# Navigation that slides content

i am looking to create a set of buttons that slide to a particular place along a very large movie clip. the large movie clip will be made up of smaller movie clips that are attached to the stage within a holding clip. i want there to be easing so that there is a smooth motion and so that it moves quicker if there is a greater distance to travel. can anyone tell me how such an effect be achieved?
