# Need explanation

this is a biginer question(but im not biginer)  
i have a game… and i have hitTest:  
if(\_root.ground.thing.hitTest(\_root.inu.\_x+5,\_root.inu.\_y,true)  
can some one explain me why i need to write \_x,\_y and what the hell “true” does?  
tnx for the helpers…
