# Need help, don't know what i'm looking for

I am learning flash AS3 at university and so far have been getting some pretty good marks. I use google to find what I need and usually I know what I am after…

Problem: I am making a game where a character can move between screens by reaching a particular set of co ordinates. So far I have looked into hitTestPoint and hitTestObject but a lot of the tutorials only cover when a mouse hits the object, and that is not what I want…

Am I looking in the right place? it’s been about 3 days now and its driving me crazy… if it is not possible to trigger a gotoAndStop(‘nextframe’) through co ordinates, I am also prepared to add doors where the character may trigger a gotoAndStop function…

I am also wondering if there is a way to tell the character that he is only allowed inside a particular movie clip, rather than going through and adding walls as MovieClips.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks
