# Need help in creating a delay function for animations!

hi,  
im pretty much a newbie when it comes to actionscript so i need help in creating a delay function for my movie clips on my website. basically, theres 3 different movie clips thats going to be loaded when the main stage loads. however i want movie clip 1 to load say ‘X’ seconds after the main page loads. then movie clip 2 loads ‘Y’ seconds after the main stage loads and then movie clip 3 loads ‘Z’ seconds after the main stage loads. i’ve searched on google and found some functions but for some reason, i couldn’t get them to work. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
