i put the code u sent me for the “close window” button but then it doesnt work and when i go to check for preview it says this…
Symbol=Home Window, Layer=close\_button, Frame=29: Line 1: Clip events are permitted only for movie clip instances

ah…you gotta make sure you put the code inside the button - the movieclip button. not on the frame…
oh yea if your button is sitll using the symbol ‘button’, change it to movieclip, theres a dropdown menu in the property panel for that. its much better…i think?!

which part aint’ workin you mean the ‘close window button’?
well you gotta put the script in there for a start 🙂
and ya don’t needa make a create tween motion for that, since its always gonna be in the same place…
and make it a movie clip, i find it easier and stuff.
ah yea and you gotta have a tween for the closing of the close button rite?! so try those and then re post it cause i don’t wanna do it for you, you gain nothin that way 🙂
ah btw, there are text scroll tutorials in the kirupa tut section 🙂

i motion tweened the “close window” button and i put in the code but then still nothing happens ?? …☹

can i see your fla plz? did you make a new tween for it?
hmm i’m not too sure what you did wrong then…
ah i think i know…did you put the tween on the same frames as the other one? what i mean is that you should put it on the frame after hte last one…
so if the open window ended on frame 15…then you start the close window on frame 16…but still on a new layer…
youi don’t havta re make all the tweens, just highlight em and drag em to the new position! tell me how it goes

nah for the close windoe you just needa do the closing tween…
you only need a newwindow for a diff btn…
if youre still stuk post the fla and i can show you or tell you wats wrong or somethin…🙂
