I have read many of the postings on problems with versions on
Navigator. What do I need to do to ensure that people running
Navigator will be able to view my Flash files correctly.

I’ve run several tests on 4.7, 6.0 and 7.0 all caused one problem
or another.

Thanks,

YJ

Your flash files should run perfectly fine in Netscape.

About the only thing that doesn’t work in Flash in Netscape is giving it a transparent background. And that only works in IE on Windows.

The problems Netscape causes (which some beg to argue IE causes, but I won’t get into that because I don’t actually consider them problems, just complications between language interpretations) have to deal with coding stuff like HTML, Javascript, CSS, and such.

Has lostinbeta said, the real problem it’s when you are trying to user javascript in conjunction with Flash. Some objects in Netscape can’t be call in the same way as it is in IE.

For example, if you try in JS to access the third input box of a form in NN, the call will be different (don’t ask me how to do it, I forgot with time).

It’s however surprising that flash transparent background can’t be displayed correctly in NN… Must be the way that NN handles “display objects”…
