# Networking Suggestions and Help?

Well I’ve searched pretty well over a few sites and here, but am still having trouble deciding on what to buy for a small home network. My friends and I jsut started room-mating (wow that sounds dirty), so there are three of us. But we have lan parties, and we were thinking an 8-port hub. But I got confused over hubs and switches. What I basically have found out is that a hub cant always work quickly with lots of computers, while a switch can. Is this about right? And switches cost more but are better in the long run.
