My Church just let me take home a Canon MiniDV XL1 for a video production project I’m doing for a national contest (called FineArts, and is a contest that has anything from singing to rock bands to art).

Here’s a link [http://www.amazon.com/Canon-XL1-Digital-Camcorder-Kit/dp/B000050FA5/sr=1-1/qid=1171079604/ref=pd\_bbs\_sr\_1/104-9728114-6588714?ie=UTF8&s=photo](http://www.amazon.com/Canon-XL1-Digital-Camcorder-Kit/dp/B000050FA5/sr=1-1/qid=1171079604/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-9728114-6588714?ie=UTF8&s=photo)

I can’t wait to start filming my project! The thing is, I’m still trying to find out how to hook it up to my computer, either getting a FireWire card for my computer and connecting it to the camera, or getting a capture card and transferring the video with s-video.

I don’t want to spend all too much money, but what do ya’ll think is the best way to get the best quality from the video?
