# New to video - need a little help

i’ve been reading a lot of interesting articles & tutorials about handling video with flash… i want to make something really simple -just have a video play in an externally loaded swf.

what i don’t really know is how to make an flv file! i know it’s probably a very stupid question but i don’t know if i need to do that with the video editing program (i’m using cleaner) or with flash… i have a couple of .avi and .mov files… do i have to do anything to the files to get them ready for flash?

if anybody can help me get started i would really appreciate it!
