# nodeValue keeps on returning a null

Hi, I don’t understand why this is happening, but I have a [font=Courier New]urlNode [/font]that  
contains the URL of a picture. When I **[font=Courier New]trace(urlNode)[/font]**, it’ll print what it’s  
supposed to, that is:  
[font=Courier New]**\<url\>[http://www.somelink.com/toa/picture.jpg](http://www.somelink.com/toa/picture.jpg)\</url\>**  
[/font]But when I do **[font=Courier New]trace(urlNode.nodeValue)[/font]** I get a **[font=Courier New]null[/font].**
