# noobieQ: buttons and control

I’ve been trying to make a webpage with flash. Everything has been smooth until i got to making a button. I wanted to make a menu that droped down and had a button on it that said close. I thought the best way to approach this is to stop playing the movie when the menu dropped down and when the user pressed close it continuue playing the movie. _please tell me if there is a better way to do this_

How i made the button:  
using text I entered a text called close. I turned it into a component, type button. Then in the action spript i wrote:  
play();

–didn’t work  
I’ve been testing it out a little.  
never got it to work.

ummm…on my site, that is sorta what i did…check it out…and if you like the effect…have fun with it…
