# onClipEvent Handlers slow SWF?

Hi Guys I have three movie clips that are running constant onClipEvent (enterFrame) handlers. Do these slow down the SWF much/take up too much ram?

It is for a random number/letter button so it is not essential, but it would be nice to have it. However if I am cutting off half of my audience, it is not worth it. Does anyone know?
