# OOP questions

I want to set my flash application up to take advantage of OOP and I would like to put all my AS files into one directory. I am confused about the custom classes and the folder names and class paths. Does my flash application have to be in the same directory as my AS files? I am reading through Learning Actionscript 3.0, but I am not getting how all of works. Can some one explain how this works?
