# Opening Flash MX 2004 on Flash MX

Hi,  
I have Flash MX and one of my friend has Flash MX 2004. He sent me a flash file that he has been working on using MX 2004, but I was not able to open it; I get an error saying, “Unexpected File Format.” Is there anyway I can open the file using MX?

Yeah I am using mx pro 2004 and just plain mx 2004 and I tried opening it one one of my projects on my dads computer (He has mx) and I was unable.
