# Outline text in 8

I’m not sure how to outline simple text in Flash 8.

I \*thought \*it was breaking apart text, then grabbing the outline tool as told in the thread [here](http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=253646&highlight=outline+tool). However this doesn’t seem to work in version 8.

Could anyone fill me in? (no pun intended).
