# Passing a flash variable from a flash.swf?var=this to itself

Hello,

I am trying to pass variables as shown below to the same swf file.

Here is the pertinent part of the parameters in the html code that points to the [url=“[Passing a flash variable from a flash.swf?var=this to itself. - Adobe: Flash - Tek-Tips](http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=998934&page=1#)”]flash file, where in this instance would be the same as the one referenced below.

What I haven’t figured out is how to bring those variables in so I can do an

if (colorscheme==green) {  
GotoandPlay(this)  
}

How do I call upon those varaibles?
