# Pasting Images into GIMP

I recently downloaded GIMP onto my Mac (with X11), and I’m having trouble pasting images into the program. Although I make sure that I correctly copy the image I want from my browser, nothing happens when I select the ‘Paste’ option in the Edit menu. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong (or not at all)?
