# Performance of duplicateMovieClip?

I was wondering about the performance of duplicateMovieClip. If for example I’ve made a small square using the rectangle tool, made it into a movie clip, and then duplicate it like 100 times, placing them different places on the scene.

How much will this affect the performance? Is there a better way to do it? (how?)
