# Performance question: commenting vs. deleting lines

Couldn’t find this in the archives…

From a performance standpoint, are these the same?..

[LIST]  
[_]1000 lines all commented  
[_]nothing  
[/LIST]  
Is the answer the same regardless of whether the commented code is in the Flash IDE’s actions pane and if it’s in a separate class?
