Hey guys, it’s been a while!

I brought a DVD-RW from PC World (more fool me!) its a Philips DVDR1620K/00 and 5 Sony DVD+R discs. Unfortunately all 5 discs are now in the trash! I can burn CD’s just fine, but it always errors or hangs when burning DVD’s

The best part is that the DVDR1620K/00 does not exist on the Philips web/support site, it seems to go by the name DVDR1640K/00 has anyone else used this drive, and more to the point, has anyone ever had any joy with this drive?

There is a firmware upgrade on the Philips site for the 1640 but I’m kinda gunning for taking it back and buying one half the price from [www.ebuyer.co.uk](http://www.ebuyer.co.uk) ! any advice on a good drive and reliable disc’s ?
