# Php + flash tute question

hi all,  
i am trying to learn php, trying to incorporate it into flash. i was following the tutorial for creating the chat room using sockets, although my setup is a bit different, because i am using hosting via godaddy rather than my own server. anyway, i am having trouble getting it to work, i think the error is in my php file, this is the error it gives me:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function socket\_create() in /home/content/t/h/e/the5thlove/html/flash/socketShell.php5 on line 32

it seems like i’m missing something somewhere in a definition file, but i’m not sure what to add. anyone have any ideas?
