how to make the pixel graphics like the one used in the [www.maroon5.com](http://www.maroon5.com) ?i’m sure they’re not doing it pixel by pixel…

It is made in photoshop you just have to play with the export setting of a gif file.

Here’s another way to do it:
Take your image, pump up the brightness+contrast if the image is too dark, and play around Image\>Mode then choose either ‘Indexed Colors’ (for the gif look alike below. You’ll need to select only 2 colors to the palette) or ‘Bitmap’ (if this option is grayed out then make your image grayscale first), the ‘Bitmap’ option offers other options, play with them a bit.
Don’t forget to turn back the mode to RGB after that

To color it in, just add a new layer on top, fill it with color and set the mode to multiply or darken)

Thats they way I woudl do it. Except I would slap a layer style on it set the blend mode to overlay, then check group blends, the slap a color overlay over that. This way you can play a lil freely. GJ mlk.
