Hi there,

I’ve been trying to create my own component for the last few days and so far I’m not really getting anywhere. Let me describe what I am trying to build. Basically I want to create a component that the user can enter 2 image names into and then they will appear on the stage (position not important) but when the file is published, clicking on image 1 will make image 2 appear. So basically image 2 by default would be invisible.

I’ve never made a component before and so far I’m finding the few tutorials that do exist, very tough to understand. I’m a designer and not a programmer and so I really need a simplistic tutorial to be honest. I can easily create a swf that accomplishes the required results but the issue really is packaging the little fella up as a component.

So far I’ve tried a few tutorials to get myself up to speed, for example [http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/applications/creating\_comps/](http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/applications/creating_comps/) but I am not savvy enough really to see how to adapt something like this to accomplish my result.

If anyone could direct me to a simple starting point, be it a book, video, pdf or website I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks guys.

:puzzled:
