# Please Help with Dynamic Sub-Menu!

Grrrr…this has been stressing me out bigtime! I followed [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/preloader\_transition.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/preloader_transition.htm) tutorial and all is well. But I would like sub-menus in the dynamically loaded movie clip. I have included a quick example of what I’m talking about if you could please check it out. You’ll get the idea once you click on the gallery link. I have tried several different techniques to get this to work but now I’m stumped. Perhaps someone could download the zip and fix my problem?

Can you give more details on what you want to achieve? As far as i can see, the sub movie on gallery loads, but is not right placed on screen.

Oh, thanks for the reply! I want the sub menu to load the same way the main menu loads. You know, with the loader and the transition, but contained within that smaller window.
Basically it’s just a mini version of the main menu. There seemed to be a conflict in the code or something. If I used the exact same code on both the main menu and the sub menus, it wouldn’t work properly. Within the zip I supplied, you will see my crappy attempt to try something other than use the same code as the main menu to make it work but it’s totally off.
Bottom line: Can you get the sub menu working exactly like the main menu (with transitions and loaders) and load it within?

PS: The reason I want it this way is so that I can have all of the submenu buttons visible while browsing the gallery

Claudio, it after reading the post titiled “\_root \_parent and this” (hehe i saw your comments in that thread) …I think that’s where my problem lies.
I think \_root is screwing things up. And I still can’t figure it out! grrr
