# Please Help with stupic linking problem

I am trying to link from a button within a movie clip within another movie clip to a schene in the same movie:

scene1  
\> mov clip  
\>mov Clip  
\>button \> on (release) { \_root.gotoAndPlay(“scene name”,1); }

I know this is the right script!! please help what am I doing wrong and is there a better way to link up schenes withing the same movie between themselves?
