# Pls help on making links in XML

Hi!  
Kirupa is such a great site:party:, I have learned so much from you guys.

My question is related to your “adding thumbnails” tutorial,

My question is about the xml file. \*\* I want to make each caption or the corresponding image clickable, so that a word or image can link to a respective web page when you click it. \*\* I’ve tried to use the “a href” html tags but it’s not working. :crying: By the way I’m also using a special font for the caption’s dynamic text field, so I’ve embedded the text for this. Everything works as expected in the tutorial, only I really need to add this “linking” feature.

Part of my xml looks like this, which together with the flash actionscript code, i just copied and pasted from your tutorial and replaced with the appropriate file names:

&lt;pic&gt;            
    &lt;image&gt;images/timbig.jpeg&lt;/image&gt;
    &lt;caption&gt;Tim&lt;/caption&gt;
    &lt;thumbnail&gt;images/timsmall.jpeg&lt;/thumbnail&gt;
&lt;/pic&gt;
