This poem was inspired by EvE : The Second Genesis, upon creating a background for my character **Galenmereth**.

**Self pity**

In the quiet serenity of the stars,  
voices, they speak to me,  
in the languages of the forgotten,  
freedom you cannot find,

trapped beyond the past,  
and facing the future,  
is there no hole,  
for me to slip through?

facing myself in the mirror,  
I am blind to my faults,  
but open to my thoughts,  
of failing truth,

and so, it has come to me,  
what I cannot, will not, and may not be,  
in these faithless times,  
myself is my hive,

of selfishness and pity…
