# Pop-up window without Javascript

Hello

I was wondering if there is a way of opening an .swf file in a new pop\_up window but without using javascript? I have seen various tutorials and they open .html files but if i substituted the .html file with a .swf file would it still work? Any help would be appreciated on both these questions.
