# Pre loader animation problem

I have a flash desktop application that I made and have a preloader in the beginning that animates. What I noticed is that while the application sets up the stage, the animation does not play. I have everything created through AS3 and there is nothing on the stage so there is about 5-10 seconds until Flash renders everything and starts playing the animation. Why is that and how can I make the animation of the preloader start right away?
