# Preloader on loaded movie

Hey gusys! I have a question…

On my main movie, like most, I am using the loadMovieNum code to load in separate swfs on different levels.

In each separate swf, I hav a preloader scene, which, when tested (ctrl+enter) works fine (using the 56k bandwidth profiler).

HOWEVER -when I test the whole movie together, when it comes to loading the swfs, it seems to bypass the preloader - I just get a quick glimpse of it.

Is this because the files are loaded fast on my HD (hence will solve itself when uploaded), or do I need to make some amendments to my code?

PRELOADER CODE:

\>Preloader scene

**FRAME 1:**

percent = Math.floor(getBytesLoaded()/getBytesTotal()\*100);  
myOutput.text = percent+"%";

**Frame 2:**

if (percent == 100) {  
gotoAndStop(“main”, 3);  
} else {  
gotoAndPlay(1);  
}

Yeah chances are it’s loaded really fast since it’s on your HD, test it out by uploading the main movie and one of the external swf’s to a server and test it there. Same thing happened to me too when I tested locally on my comp, but when I uploaded it, everything works fine.

Hey EG -thnx 4 da reply - Im FEELIN ur new footer by the way!  
Thing is, I’ve just uploaded everything, but when I checked my site, it looked the same - just a brief glimpse of the preloader!! I have brodaband, so that maybe why… but I see preloaders on other sites!! I’ve also dleted my temp internet files as well - didnt help.

Would u mind checking it out for me and lettingme know if u can see it?

Its asmall percentage preloader, in the top 3rd of the screen (the top module if u like). Thanx.

I see it, but since you dont have much content on the site, theres not much to load. I have crappy dialup and I only saw it for maybe 2 seconds… of course thats a GREAT thing, so dont feel like you have to add a bunch of crp to make your preloader more prominent. 😉

I saw the preloader for about 1.5 seconds so I don’t think it’s a problem, you should be happy your site loads fast. hahah I’m on DSL so my connection isn’t too bad, but I did see it so it’s working.

Thanks for the comment on my footer, I like your layout as well, nice brushed metal look and very clean. Let me know when your site is done. =)

Oh great - at least its working!!! Thnx guys! Yeh, theres no content there yet… hopefully soon!! I’m just gonna ost in the SITE CHECK forum for a few comments on the layout - here goes!!!

Also, when you test you’re movie, press Ctrl + Enter to get what it would look like on a really slow connection (don’t know the specifics, though…).
