is there a way to have one preloader load all sections in a flash site but still use external swf files?

Ermmm, don’t think so. Not that I know of at least, because doing that would be the equivilent of using Scenes, and loadMovie was supposed to be the cure to using Scenes.
loadMovie was so that anything not being viewed, won’t be loaded. You can always put a preloader onto your file that you are loading 🙂

i asked the question cos i saw 2advanced did what i asked (not bossing i mean as in the queation i asked)… but i also heard they used JSP and that might be the pinpoint…

Lol, from what I have seen when I had a 28.8, their preloaders are not fake.
They use loadMovie to load in each of those sections. On each of the movies they load, they have a preloader script.
