# Problem masking with letters?

Hi  
I have an image and on the masking layer I have three letters B A D.  
when masked all I see is the B masking?  
I want it to masking order like: B (shows image)\>A(shows more)\>D(shows more)  
I thought anything put on the masking layer should show whats below it?
