i have downloaded a menu. but when i open the menu in my movie, it drops down and loads my page with it. but when the menu is done. it stops loading my site any ideas ---

Alex if you want any of us to be able to help you then you gotta help us understand what your problem is. Your explanation is really unclear and vague. What menu did you download? ---

i found a drop down menu from flash kit. it has the option to open and close the menu. when i open the menu the time line starts and loads the menu but it also loads my ssite to a certian point and stops. ---

Do you want it to do both of those? Or is it doing both of those and you don’t want that? ---

if i get rid of the button exit i will still have that problem because if i keep the open button it will still reload my time line and then stio in the loading my site ---

Well you can edit the actions inside the button to open your menu so that it doesn’t reload your timeline. Can you post a link to where you download the file? Or post up the original .fla file so we can see how exactly this menu works? ---

WOW, that menu has some pretty wicked tweens. Well, I don’t see why you would have a problem with this. The only timeline the buttons effect is the timeline of the menu clip. So the only things that should do anything is the stuff inside the movie clip of the draggable menu. ---

how would i make this work. becasue i put it in my site and the when it loads all the way and i click open its reloads my whole site ☹ ---

Well do you have the entire menu it its own movie clip? Buttons and all. ---

You don’t know how to make a movie clip symbol? If that is the case, you are jumping waaaayyyyy ahead of yourself here. You have to select all your items that make up your menu and hit F8 on the keyboard (or go to Insert/Convert To Symbol…) then make them a movie clip. But you can’t select whole tweens and stuff. You will need to create your symbol first, and paste the tweens inside if that is what you are confused about. ---

I took a look at that menu and Lost is right, its too advanced for you Alex. Chances are you’re building your entire site inside the same movieclip that holds that menu so maybe that’s why its effecting your movie when you open and close the menu. Learn about making movieclips first then jump back to this menu.
