Latest news on all things French. The US capitol building has changed it’s menu. No longer will the cafeteria be selling any food that is French. In fact… the word French has been replaced with the word “Freedom”. That’s right everyone, they will no longer server French fries in the capitol… instead they are selling “Freedom” fries. No French toast… it’s Freedom toast.
ok… look, you want to boycott France and French production items… I don’t have a problem with it. I wont stand in the way of that, but FRENCH FRIES ARE NOT FRENCH. FRENCH TOAST IS NOT FRENCH!!!
I’m laughing myself to tears here. Are we boycotting their economy in order to induce leverage or are we just being a bunch of babies? This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of in my life.

I was waiting for someone else to key on this…
Now, when you leave for work, you “freedom kiss” your wife goodbye…
you go to the drugstore and buy a pack of “freedom ticklers.”
or go the dirty book store and look at the “freedom postcards.”
The guy in the marching band is now playing a “freedom horn.”
and finally, when you swear, you must say “pardon my freedom.”

The news caster said “pardon my Freedom” as his punchline to the commentary. I almost fell out of my chair. 😛
I guess I should be glad that I “live in interesting times”.

I agree - changing the names of French stuff is pretty lunatic. We did this same to the German names during WWII, but trying this again using French names sounds unproductive.

lol they were talking about this on the Daily Show too. I get my news from the Daily Show on Comedy Central. I’m sick of CNN. 🙂
